Occasionally slot games are based on current big film or TV franchises. However, every now and then, one appears based on a less remembered and popular title. The Event Horizon slot game is one such example, as it is based on the lesser known 1997 film starring Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neil.
That doesn’t stop it being an enjoyable title; like many of Betsoft’s games, it is well designed, with the background and gameplay depicting the deepest depths of space in great detail. This Event Horizon review will inform players how the game is played, what the bonus features are (if any) and what the RTP (return to player) rate is.
Gameplay
The Event Horizon slot game is a classic three row and five reel slot. The idea is to match the symbols on at least three of the reels, to achieve a winning payout. The minimum bet on each spin ranges from €0.02 up to €0.25. This can be adjusted using the Choose Coin feature. There is also an autoplay function, which users can select if they wish to let the game do the spinning for them.
The symbols are fairly standard ones that you’d expect to find on the vast majority of slot games, such as, single, double and triple gold bars, cherries and the red sevens. If players managed to land red sevens on all the five reels, they will be rewarded with an additional 1000 extra coins. So these are the symbols to watch out for.
In total the game offers 243 unique paylines, giving players a great variety of ways to achieve some winnings.
Event Horizon Free Play
For any players who aren’t used to playing slot games online, or want to see how the game looks and feels before they try it out with money, there is an Event Horizon free play edition. Giving this version a go first is a good idea if bettors want to try it without staking any of their own cash.
Bonus Features
This wouldn’t be a very thorough Event Horizon game review if we didn’t mention the bonus features that Betsoft had built into this slot. However there aren’t a great number of them on offer here, with no scatter symbols, bonus games or free spins to speak of. However there is a wild symbol, here represented by the shiny sphere icon. This symbol will replace any other on the reels, to help make winning paylines.
RTP
The RTP rate for the Event Horizon slot game is 96.5%. While that means the game is fairly volatile, players still have a good chance of making some money back if they stick with and persevere with the game.
Our Event Horizon Review
Even though it is based on a not hugely well known game from over 20 years ago, this doesn’t stop it from being an enjoyable slot. It is well designed and simple to play, so we recommend giving the Event Horizon slot game a go.
